The Purple Lights @ Roundhouse

On the one hand the heading sounds more grandiose than it is (The Selector were playing the main stage), but on the other hand it is important because the duo were headlining a showcase of artists in residence at the iconic venue in Camden/Chalk Farm on 6 October 2017. Roundhouse are supporting young and up-and-coming talent, not only musicians, but also spoken-word artists and dancers. Standouts were spoken-word artist Martha Pailing, who made me never look at bread rolls in the same way again; hip-hop rapper DeeWain; and Mobius Trip, who is a star in the making, an imposing figure armed with a bass guitar and a booming voice singing about smoking weed in a totally unstoner way. And, of course, The Purple Lights, a duo like no other™, who I have already photographed and written about quite a bit.
